MENTORING
I’m available for one-to-one mentoring sessions with emerging literary translators working from any language into English, in bookings taken in 1-2 hour slots, either in-person in London or online. Please contact me for rates.
I’m particularly interested in working with translators of color and those working with a heritage/home language, and I offer discounted rates for anyone who identifies as either, as part of my commitment to making Anglophone literary translation a more equitable space. Additionally, every year I offer one free, longterm mentorship to an emerging translator of color.
**Currently closed to new applications for mentoring until Spring 2023.**
My current mentees are:
Adrienne Bruce (Japanese to English)
Soobin Kim (Korean to English – LTI Korea/National Centre for Writing Residence Program)
Past mentees include:
Arthur Reiji Morris (Japanese to English)
Please get in touch for more details.
WORKSHOPS & TALKS
I can organize, devize and lead workshops and talks on literary translation suitable for groups of all levels and abilities. These can be about Japanese-English translation specifically or about literary translation in general. I have spoken with groups from SOAS, University of Sheffield, University of Chicago, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and more.
If you’re an organization or university looking to book a workshop or talk I’d be delighted to discuss how I could create something suitable for your needs.
